Clinton lurching left on platform to woo Sanders supporters

For Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders endorsement is coming with a steep price tag. In order to achieve the unity she so desperately seeks, Clinton is accommodating Sanders on several key elements of the Democratic party platform, pushing the party ever farther to the left. Clinton has embraced a $15 an hour minimum wage, free college tuition for most students, and yesterday, she came out for a public option and more money for community health centers. Vox: In the proposal, Clinton pledged:   To give Americans in every state a "public option" health insurance plan To let Americans as young as 55 years old opt in to Medicare And to double funding for primary care services at community health centers Now, these aren’t really new ideas for Clinton.
